Brexit - a giant's task!

Sad turn of events!!
As a result of this week's TV reports from London and Brussels, I once again express my sincere regret that successive British Governments are not planning for the long-term health and benefits to the British Economy! This article is one of a series and I intend to publicly share my thinking with every one of my readers.

First Custom's Union:
On 5th September 1944, the first Customs Union treaty was initiated and signed in London by three nations (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) now known as the BeNeLux Union and came into effect on 1st January 1948.

United Kingdom
Nicola Sturgeon and her SNP colleagues made a significant error of judgement by placing another "Independence Referendum" on the table.

Equally, I am uncomfortable that:

  1. Mrs Theresa May has obscured discussions with the leaders of the devolved governments.
  2. Politicians of the 56th Parliament of the United Kingdom in Westminster failed to put country before party.
  3. British Government institutions lack modernity and are insufficiently geared to manage the digital information age.
In the last 4 general elections, I have renamed non-voters and classified them as "abstained" ,,,
For want of a better description, the silent majority

No more speculation - the hard bargaining starts now...

In time, the result of the negotiations will be known and it is up to analysts to look back on this historic passage of time. In terms of that history, there is only one certainty, i.e. the voice of the people ('vox popoli') usually guides politicians to keep in touch with real priorities.
