Personal career

In the summer 1975 I left school in Scotland (refer to the Rannoch Years).

BANKING was still considered as a safe "job for life" and while I was waiting for my A Level results,  I accepted a holiday job in Paris for six weeks!

As my command of english was mixed with a healthy doze of Scottish Standard English"  I secluded myself for 3 months in Oxford (Autumn 1975) to resit my A Level Economics (previously awarded an O Level pass).

In March 1976 I started my first job as an apprentice with Barclays Bank before joining Barclays Bank International in 1978.
