This morning the leadership of the world are united in grief with the families of the victims of this unfortunate incident.
Whatever the cause of this disaster it is not a time for posturing by politicians in whatever manner. The respectful repatriation of the victim's mortal remains for burial is the absolute and only priority.
We appeal to Mr Putin on behalf of the Russian Federation to show urgently that he can rise above the political fray and demonstrate basic decency and respect; acknowledge the genuine grief felt by the families of the victims.
